R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT…..

August 22, 2008

Beyonce was spotted at J&R’s MusicFest concert series in City Hall Park, New York yesterday afternoon. The superstar singer was there to watch the performances of younger sister Solange and pal Michelle Williams:

Beyonce has been keeping a low profile as of late as to not disrupt the shine of Solange and Michelle Williams. Word on the E-streets is that we could end up hearing a new single in 2-3 weeks. Be prepared for serious mayhem. I don’t even think I want to be around when millions of fans become zombified.

As Beyonce watched from the stands, so did mama Tina as Solange and Michelle did their thang. It was certainly a lil family affair:

Mama Tina looked like she just sucked on some lemon’s. So is this sour-faced look REALLY Beyonce’s future as ya’ll keep saying? I hope not.

Solange also attended the Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer Street Block Party in New York City’s SoHo yesterday:

She chilled out with rapper pal Q-Tip who collaborated on a remix to Solange’s latest new single ‘Sandcastle Disco’.

Meanwhile, those young lovers Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted shopping on Melrose yesterday and made sure not to be seen together although they were close by. Rihanna’s mama and two brothers were also in tow:

If Rihanna is as broke as reports say she is, then she certainly isn’t showing it. We all know this chick LIVES for shopping. Probably because she knows there’s another endorsement around the corner that awaits her. And even if that were to dry up, there’s always C. Breezy’s money. But do remember she’s still the IT girl after all.

Rihanna, Chris and her brother were also spotted at a Barbados nightclub last week:

Chris sure is well in with the Fenty family. Nice.

Robin Thicke paid a visit to radio station Mix 92.3 in Detroit, Michigan on Wednesday afternoon:

The singer was on the show to do further promotion for new album ‘Something Else’ which is set for release on September 30th.

Danity Kane‘s D. Woods, producer Bryan Michael Cox and singer Lyfe Jenninngs were spotted at the Heineken Red Star Soul Concert in Atlanta this week:

Lyfe took to the stage and performed his latest music.

Meanwhile, the Pussycat Dolls performed at PokerIsland in Spain earlier on in the week:

They’ve been prepping themselves up for the forthcoming release of new album ‘Doll Domination’ (23rd Sept) with a string of TV promo.

Christina Milian was spotted at Coco DeVille Nightclub in West Hollywood this week with her bodyguard:

Same ole same ole with Christina. Cute as hell but oh-so-irrelevant!

Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon attended the Sony Pictures’ premiere of House Bunny this week in Westwood, CA:

She looked cute. Love the shoes. Keep it locked.

LYFE JENNINGS PERFORMS ON ‘JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!’….

May 8, 2008

On Tuesday, Lyfe Jennings performed his latest single ‘Never Never Land‘ on Jimmy Kimmel Live!:

Lyfe’s new album Lyfe Change did really well on the Billboard charts securing a No 4 position with sales in excess of 76,332 copies. And he didn’t get much promotion either. So kudos to him. His album on the other half, didn’t really impress me. Meanwhile, check out his interview after the cut.

INTERVIEW

GOING SHOPPING TODAY?….

April 29, 2008

Yesterday was a really slow news day as some of you have pointed out and it looks like today is set to become the same. But that said, it does look like it’s going to be an interesting day for those all important CD releases:

Estelle’s ‘Shine’, Madonna‘s ‘Hard Candy’, Lyfe Jenning‘s ‘Lyfe Change’ AND Raven Symone‘s self titled debut all got released today. Which CD will you be supporting?

LYFE JENNINGS ALBUM COVER ART FOR ‘LYFE CHANGE’ // ALBUM TRACKLISTING….

April 19, 2008

Lyfe Jennings is coming out with his third studio album, which is titled ‘Lyfe Change’. The album drops on April 29th and comprises of 15 tracks including two lead singles, ‘Cops Up’ and ‘Never Never Land’. Here’s the official album cover art:

The cover displays a close-up side view shot of Jennings’ face and a dawn sun which is interpreted as the kind of “change” he’s looking towards. I likes. I am not sure if I’ll be coping this album though. I purchased his debut album on-line and loved it. His sophomore album The Phoenix was a complete downgrade. But I’ll definitely give it a listen when it freely becomes available. I commend him for incorporating REAL issues into his music such as teenage pregnancies, deadbeat fathers and AIDS. It’s a really nice change from the usual topics of sex, bling and women that plaques today’s R&B music. You can check out the synopsis for some of the songs AND the album tracklisting after the cut.

“It’s Real” and “Wild, Wild, Wild” deal with social issues especially AIDS. “I think that anytime you’re trying to spread any message not just AIDS but mental, physical, and social stability-whatever it is you always hope that you’re gonna be able to see a growth,” Jennings said of the material. “I think that people including myself that are pressing that growth can see the growth.”

“Lyfe Change” is the third studio album from the singer which will be released on April 29. Speaking on the title he selects for the CD Jennings said, “I guess moving away from home and just trying to make sure that I build a great family around my children.”
