FAITH EVANS NEW BOOK ‘KEEP THE FAITH: A MEMOIR’….

Faith Evans is coming out with her brand new book Keep The Faith: A Memoir and here is the official book over:

There was a fake one going around back in April but this is the one that’s on Amazon. The picture looks like an outtake from her 2001 album Faithfully. Lawd knows she doesn’t look like that anymore judging by recent pics (and her hair is no longer red and hasn’t been for a long time) . Not really sure if it’ll make for an interesting read but here’s what you’ll find inside:

You’ll get a first person account of life at ground zero of hip-hop’s greatest generation. She’ll share the truth about the love affair that changed her life, and the innuendo that rocked the hip-hop world to its core. From her passionate and tragically short-lived life with Biggie, Faith will finally lay the true story on the line. We’ll get to see the good, the bad and the ugly side of P Diddy; nobody knew either quite as well as Faith.

For those interested, the book comes out on August 29th. Faith has been pretty quiet on the music front but I hope we get new music soon. As soon as I find out anything, I’ll post. Thanks Storm.

Spice Girl Melanie Brown (Booby Spice) is the new spokeswoman for Ultimo Lingerie and she was in London at Debenhams to promote it. Here’s a couple of pics:

Mel B is also on course to become the new X Factor judge. She is currently in negotiation and has beat off stiff competition from two other British singers – Charlotte Church and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole. It was officially announced this week that Sharon Osbourne has quit The X Factor. Sharon will not be returning to the show that launched Leona Lewis into the International superstar that she is today. Sharon absolutely hates the new judge Danni Minogue because she sees Danni as a threat and believes Danni only got the job because of her looks and not because of her contribution towards the music industry. It’s also believed that Sharon’s departure could all be down to the two judges not getting along as well.

As reported, Mel is working on a brand new solo album and on it she has a revenge song targeted at Eddie Murphy, the father of her daughter Angel Iris. According to the Daily Mirror, the song is called ‘Undercover‘ and here’s a preview of the lyrics: “You’re a deadbeat cheat, so undercover. Living a Hollywood Lie as Mr Lover Lover. Go ‘head leading your double life, phoney faker undercover.” Wow. But not surpising. Mel has been down this route before. Nope. This is not the first time Mel has taken shots at another baby daddy of hers. In a vicious attack towards her ex-hubby Jimmy Gulzar (father of her 9-year-old daughter Phoenix Chi) she criticizes him on her previous top 5 single ‘Tell Me’: “Now I see you didn’t have no self esteem. And all you loved was Mel B’s money”. Mel’s album due out this autumn, also features a new duet with Baby Spice Emma Bunton and reportedly, Janet Jackson.

Last night, Bad Boy acts Danity Kane, Day26, Donnie Klang and Cheri Dennis took their current Making The Band 4 tour to Las Vegas:

Every time we see her, she’s either eating out at a restaurant or leaving a nightclub. I’m amazed, paps trail her around considering that she hasn’t been doing much lately.

Due to exhaustion, Mary J. Blige has decided to postpone her New Zealand/Australia tour until November. She says: “Postponing these shows has been an extremely difficult decision for me and I am sincerely sorry that I will not be able to fulfill my tour commitments, but I assure you that the November shows will be well worth the wait”.

On Tuesday, May 13th, newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon had lots of fun at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California where they had a wedding reception for their close family and friends:

Very corny, phoney and calculated in deed. So where do I start? In the second and third pics, Mariah is seen hugging Nick Cannon’s mother and Grandfather. The love-struck actor had the whole park shut down after paying a mid-six figure sum so that he and Mariah could party with 100 friends and family. He also decorated the park in Mariah’s latest theme colours by using pink and purple balloons along with her trademark butterflies. They also had a banner which read: ‘Mariah and Nick: A Love Story’. Mimi’s latest new album was playing throughout and each guest received a pink or red Superman cape as a gift (huh?). The loved-up couple were extremely playful as they kissed, cuddled and giggled like naughty teenagers on the rampage. They were seen enjoying the rides and heading back to their reception to greet guests.

I’ve never seen anything so staged in my whole entire life. Talk about overkill. A love story involves keeping most of those moments sacred without the watchful eye of the public and the media. There are just some stuff you keep to yourself. It’s funny seeing Mariah get on that British journalist a couple of months ago for asking about her love life, and declaring her rights to preserve a personal relationship since her whole life has become a public spectacle. And look at her now, pimping out her marriage to Entertainment Tonight and anyone who’ll show an ounce of interest. How quickly things change.

Yesterday, Beyonce and Jay-Z were were at Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference semi-final basketball playoff series between the Celtics and the Cavaliers:

Beyonce was also seen out in Manhattan. The chick surprisingly looked nice and trendy in her Khaki pants along with a grey woolly beanie and Chanel jacket. What a massive improvement from the disastrous outfit in yesterday’s posting. However, I am seeing a pouch in Beyonce’s stomach area. Either she’s preggers or she decided to gauge on Popeyes chicken WITHOUT working out or, she’s stopped working out completely. The mystery continues.

Cherish put in appearance on TRL this past Tuesday to promote their album The Truth which was released this week:

My album review should be up before the end of the week. They’re sooooo going to flop, which is a shame, because they can sing.

For those still in the dark, his album has been pushed back to August 26th. I know he was mad pissed that his debut album didn’t see the light of day so let’s hope this date sticks. I like his music.

Mya was looking like the ever so perfect sexy Velma Kelly that night. I have no doubt she’ll do the role justice. The ambitious 28-year-old has been locked in rehearsals for her all important debut which will go down on May 12th through July 13th.

Herve Leger dresses aren’t for everybody. In fact, there should be an immediate blacklisting on that dress, sort of like the writers strike thing (I’m glad it’s over and that Supernatural, Smallville and Lost are back on our screens, followed by Prison Break and Kyle XY which are coming back shortly. Wow, that’s definitely Biggie’s son alright, lol. On a positive note, at least he’s cute, being that he’s Biggie’s son and all…. And she could have at least combed that lil boys hair. Geeez. The singer is reportedly releasing a book based on her memoirs. That should be pretty interesting. I’m sure she has a lot of juicy things to write about such as whether she truly slept with her late husband’s arch rival, the late Tupac Shakur. Well, she denies it (but doesn’t mean it aint true).

So En Vogue really are serious about their comeback. I give it another week before Dawn bails out again and they split. The group (Cindy, Maxine, Dawn and Terri), reunited on Saturday night to perform at the 4th Annual Plymouth Jazz Festival Tobago:

UPDATE: I just discovered that the song is produced by Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes. Pharrell also produced 702’s I Still Love You which would explain why both songs sound so similar.

An unreleased cut from Faith Evans has finally hit the Net and about time too. I’ve been feenin’ for some new Faith music for a hot minute now. Maybe, without a doubt, has that throwback feel from 702’s I Still Love You. It feels like I’m listening to a remix as I fathom what they would both sound like blended together on a Club DJ’s turntable. It was only before Christmas I was listening to her debut album, you know, the one she released on Bad Boy when music was super hot back then? I sometimes find myself drawn back into that mid-90’s era from time to time. But what is going on with Faith and her new album? Still, one track is better than nada. I hope Faith bowls us over again, like she did back in the day. CHECK IT OUT!
