♫ THE NEW MUSIC ROUND-UP: OLIVIA, MARIO, RYAN LESLIE & WYNTER GORDON……

October 8, 2008

Check out your second dosage of the new TW feature – The New Music Round Up where I actually sum up today’s newest music with one word (or three) – HOT, NOT or ON THE FENCE…..

This post sees Olivia (who has had several comeback failures) trying to make it once again. It appears she has ditched R&B to hop onto the Euro-pop bandwagon. No word on whether the song will be the official single but it’s a taster of what’s to come from her forthcoming project. Mario serenades us with his smoothness, Ryan Leslie comes with yet another infectious beat and Wynter Gordon provides us with another hot track. It’s all in here. HOT, NOT or ON THE FENCE?

♫ OLIVIA: RHYTHM OF MY HEART

NOT!

♫ MARIO: INSIDE OF YOU

HOT!

♫ RYAN LESLIE: MISS HER

HOT!

♫ WYNTER GORDON: SEARCH ME

HOT!

♫ WYNTER GORDON: FEEL IT [NEW SONG]….

September 4, 2008

I’ve been loving Wynter Gordon ever since my ears were introduced to the hotness that was ‘Surveillance’, but the song didn’t get anywhere and now a new song has been put forward called ‘Feel It’.

The song is pretty compelling and the chorus sampling of the Phil Collins‘ classic ‘In The Air Tonight’ was cleverly done and very much appreciated. I’m definitely feeling the song and the beat. It’s different and not at all repetitive due to its epic pop sound of the early 1990’s. More refreshing is that the chick can sing and has cute vocals to go along with it. I stay jamming to her mixtape and it’s crazy. It’s a shame we may not even get a release from her but I hope this track gathers enough momentum so that she can finally put out that album. We’ve waited long enough.

NEW R&B ARTIST: WYNTER GORDON SET TO SEND CHILLS….

January 20, 2008

Wynter Gordon could very well be the next Keri Hilson (even before Keri’s singing career has taken off). Wynter is an established singer/songwriter who wrote the song “Gonna Breakthrough” for the legendary Mary J Blige on her previous smash hit album The Breakthrough. Her first single, “Surveillance” has an electronica/dance pop type sound and punches you in the face with its unique styling. The song is taken from her soon-to-be released debut album on Atlantic Records and it’s a record that she wrote with Delisha Thomas. The song is produced by D’Mile. Her debut album is groomed with production from the likes of big name producers such as The Dream, Tricky Stewart, Syience, Bryan-Michael Cox and Ryan ‘Alias’ Tedder amongst others. I also included a snippet of a slow paced track called Times Up to emphasise that she does have a nice singing voice and that she’s not the type of artist to hide her lack of vocal ability under a riveting and catchy dance number. If you like what you hear and want to hear more, you can even download a mixtape of all of her leaked music put together by WORLD OF MELODIES a month ago. Enjoy.
