Never mind Oct 6th which was the official premiere date for Christina Milian‘s new single. ‘Us Against The World’ is finally here. Christina is getting ready to release a brand new album but it’s not expected to drop until the first quarter of 2009. As for the track…..

I’m really feeling the Mad-Scientist produced song. It’s a really nice song but it sounds like a regular pop ballad to me. It sounds like a song Brandy would do more justice to because I can see her singing a track like this. Christina’s vocals just aren’t that strong for it to be considered power-anything. A power ballad would be Whitney‘s ‘I’ll Always Love You’, Celine‘s ‘My Heart Will Go On’, Mariah‘s ‘Hero’ and well, I can go on and on. I personally think she can sing but if she was expecting this track to get her the respect she wanted as a vocalist, then to be quite frank, I’m feeling a bit short-changed.

Tiny definetely had her man on a tight leash. As for T-Boz, she’s looking quite well. I’m hearing she’s working on a solo album but only time will tell. We’ve been waiting on Chilli since forever so I wouldn’t really count on it. CHRISTINA MILIAN TALKS TO BILLBOARD ABOUT NEW SINGLE & ALBUM…..

Christina Milian is preparing to release her brand new album next year Spring but her new single ‘Us Against The World’ will be heard for the very first time on Oct 6th. Christina exclusively chatted to Billboard about her comeback to the music scene, whilst her record label Interscope/Myspace Records unveiled this spanking hot new promo picture:

The first single, “Us Against The World,” is a “cinematic power ballad” produced by Madd Scientist (Leona Lewis, Jesse McCartney) and will be available via the social networking site on Oct. 6th.

In addition to “World,” the album includes tracks like the feel-good “Diamond,” “Stay,” which Milian compares to an early ’90s s Madonna ballad, and the Euro-club record “Tug of War.”

Aside from Scientist, other producers on the pop/urban set, which the 26-year-old powerhouse describes as a “very feminine, strong and independent album,” include T-Pain, Cool and Dre, Jim Jonsin, Toby Gad and Danja. Kanye West is the sole guest feature so far, although Milian, who wrote most of the album, does hint at some potential collaborative surprises down the line.

Christina on having more control of her musical direction:

“I’ve been out of the game for one-and-a-half years, and I think I’m long overdue for a comeback, so I’m treating this album like it’s my last chance to make an impression. I’m competing with myself and being very detailed,” the 26-year-old Cuban-American tells Billboard. “Before, I had a label telling me what direction to go in. Now, it’s my choice, so I’m being very particular about it and I’m really excited.”

That promo pic is wow! As for the single, I still think it’s risky putting out a ballad but I’ll reserve my judgement for the song until I actually hear it on Oct 6th. You never know. It could very well be another ‘Bleeding Love’. I’m interested to hear what Kanye West has cooked up. That week is going to be really interesting because the day after that, well, you know…..

It was unofficially announced last week that Christina Milian‘s lead single from her forthcoming as-yet-titled album would be a track called ‘Us Against the World’, and now more details about the single has been enclosed. The song will reportedly premiere this month…..

Christina Milian is in the studio finishing up her fourth as-yet-untitled album, which will be released on MySpace Records in 2009. The first single, a ballad called ‘Us Against the World,’ will premiere this month.

“It’s very feminine,” Christina told Rap-Up.com about her first album since 2006’s ‘So Amazin’. “I find that there’s been a lot of maturity in my vocals. [So Amazin’] was a little more urban-pop, so this one is pop-urban-international.”

The 26-year-old is working with Cool & Dre, who produced the bulk of her last album, as well as Mad Scientist (Nicole Scherzinger’s “Supervillain”). Kanye West produced and is featured on a track, while Pitbull also makes an appearance. SOURCE

Christina was never acclaimed as a respected recording artist. I think the vomit-inducing ‘AM to PM’ may have had a lot to do with Christina’s musical career somewhat being seen as a huge joke. And being signed to a record label called MySpace Records is doing her no favours. I do like her take on the term “pop-urban-international” to emphasise how her sound will be more pop-dominated with lots of commercial appeal. And having Kanye West on board is in deed a good look. I’m not liking the sound of a ballad for lead single when Christina has never been admired for her vocals (except for her beauty) but we’ll see how this all pans out.

I got a bit of news on that Christina Milian single that leaked two weeks ago. As ya’ll know the track is called ‘One Kiss’. In a brand new blog, Christina says that the song is one out of 25 tracks that is set for inclusion on her new album, and she says the new single is coming very soon.
