CASSIE INTERVIEW ON ‘106 & PARK’…..

Diddy‘s jump-off Cassie appeared on 106 & Park yesterday, where she dropped by to do a quickie interview. She was on the show to talk about her forthcoming project and more. One thing she says we may not know about her is that she’s shy:

LOL. Shy my ass. It takes a gutsy woman to sleep with a man TWICE her age just to keep her record deal (sorry, I just can’t get those pictures out of my head). It doesn’t necessarily make her a ho. Does it? If it were anyone else she’d have been dropped like a hot potatoe. That said, she does come with the bangers and I feel her album (which she says will be out in early 2009) will be a fierce one.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had an ‘out & about’ post, so I thought I’d do one today. Beyonce Knowles and hubby Jay-Z attended New Yorkers For Children’s Fall Gala, which took place last night at Cipriani’s in NYC:

Beyonce looked great. I am feeling the lesser artificial look she’s been rocking lately. The annual gala honored Music Executive Kevin Liles, while raising money to assist children in foster care in New York City.

Leona Lewis did further promo yesterday when she put in an appearance on “Much On Demand”:

Solange Knowles attended Seventeen’s Rock-N-Style Concert and Fashion Show at Highline Ballroom over the weekend in New York City last week:

Last night, Ms Janet Jackson kicked off her ‘Rock Witchu Tour’ which went down at the GM Place in Vancouver, B.C:

Wow. Janet really do have one hell of an ass. I am quite surprised she didn’t go stick thin for the tour which I’m quite happy about. Go Janet!

The event was hosted by former Pussycat Dolls member Carmit Bachar. Christina arrived with her younger sister Danielle. They both looked cute.

Chris Brown was spotted on the set of his new movie ‘Bone Deep’ in Los Angeles, California on Monday:

That boy reeks of all sorts of sexy. I bet he knows it too.

Chris has also responded to Jordin Sparks remarks about fancying him but Rihanna ruining her chances. He says:

“I heard that [she has a crush on me]”, said Chris at the 5th annual Fashion Rocks show in NYC on September 5th. “But when we did that video, I didn’t feel that chemistry. I didn’t feel that. Oh, and he’s also writing for the new Britney Spears album since they’re on the same label and all:

“I actually wrote a couple songs for her now”. Brown said, noting that Spears hadn’t yet heard the new songs. “We’re on the same label, so all the executives heard the records and they love the records, so hopefully she’ll cut it” he said. “But if she doesn’t, oh well, we’ll go back in the studio and still do some more records for her”.

Damn, Chris is writing for EVERYBODY these days. He sure knows how to make that paper. Good for him. He’s knowing that the money isn’t made through record sales.

Meanwhile, his girlfriend Rihanna was spotted visiting him on the set of the actual movie yesterday:

The couple were shuttled around in a cargo van while they both covered their heads with a white towel. Chris is in the photo behind Rihanna. Funny.

RYAN LESLIE: ADDICTION [NEW VIDEO]…..

Ryan Leslie premiered his new video for latest single ‘Addiction’. The song has Bad Boy/Next Selection artist Cassie singing the chorus whilst rapper Fabolous spits out a couple of verses. However, hot-bloodied males will be disappointed to find that the actual video is Cassie-less:

I find Cassie’s absence weird in which a selection of models were put in to mime her parts. The song is hot and her airy vocals ride the beat well so to have her appear in the video would have sent the video sizzling with sex. It is actually the first time these two have ‘distanced’ themselves after working on a project together. Normally, if those two have collaborated on a track, there’d be no doubt they’d appear together in a music video. This then puts more emphasis that amid the ‘Cassie is fucking Diddy‘ rumours flying around over the months, they’re not as close as they once were.

Ryan is likely taking it to heart considering that he was once alleged to have dated the ‘Me & U’ singer. I can only imagine how he must feel about these latest revelations especially since those two were once joined at the hip and now she’s more closer to Diddy than ever (wherever he goes, so does she apparently). Anywho, I know I bitched about Cassie’s new video ‘Official Girl’ looking like a scantily-clad photoshoot than an actual music video but I’d rather see her near-flawless bikini-bod paraded around than to be subjected to a few close-up’s of Fab’s not-so-fabolous ‘crying out for an orthodontic procedure’ crooked-ridden teeth.

Cassie and Solange Knowles both attended the Opening Party at the MINI Rooftop NYC on Thursday in New York City:

I can’t say I was feeling what either of them were wearing. Cassie who usually looks flawless has been off the mark lately with the outfits. Didn’t she rock a similar style dress at FNMTV but in hot pank? As for Solo, I’ve always said she was badly in need of a good stylist. MINI ROOFTOP NYC is a cultural event series bringing together high-profile performances, discussions and events, which will take place in New York City from September 4th to September 13th 2008. The event is hosted on a New York City rooftop by MINI and based on the automotive brand’s international campaign for the “Creative Use of Space”. The MINI ROOFTOP NYC initiative is intended to give a platform for artists and performers – established and emerging – to unfold their creativity.

In chronological order (every artist has their own row), R&B songstresses Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Rihanna, Ciara and Keyshia Cole were all spotted at the Fashion Rocks rehearsal in New York City:

The rehearsals took place at the Radio City Music Hall. Look out for the official Fashion Rocks picture post coming very soon. And you know performances will be posted next week as soon as the show airs on Sept 9th. Everybody was looking pretty good. I see Beyonce has gone back to her trademark blonde for the BIG comeback whilst Mariah’s hubby was checking her out from the back view. I see their sex life has yet to fizzle out, lol.

Janet Jackson was guest at the BMI Urban Awards 2008 held at the Wilshire Theater in Los Angeles last night. Janet presented the BMI Icon Award to her brothers Marlon, Tito, Jacki & Randy:

Their disastrous plastic surgical siblings Michael, LaToya and Jermaine weren’t there but maybe it was for the best. Without them, those Jacksons really are a normal looking family. Janet’s face has gone round like a dumpling though. But hey, at least she looks healthy. It was also a family affair as Janet’s mom and dad Joe and Kathleen attended as well. Joe should stay away from all public events. I’m grown but he scares my ass shitless. *shivers* I know that nicca didn’t just shade the front of his balding head with a kohl eyebrow liner, lol.

I got a bit of news on that Christina Milian single that leaked two weeks ago. As ya’ll know the track is called ‘One Kiss’. In a brand new blog, Christina says that the song is one out of 25 tracks that is set for inclusion on her new album, and she says the new single is coming very soon.

Host Russell Brand, Christina Aguilera, and T.I. were at the Paramount Pictures lot in Hollywood yesterday to announce the latest round of MTV VMA performers and presenters:

Christina Aguilera will perform a special rendition of ‘Genie in a Bottle’ at the event to promote her new Greatest Hit album ‘Keeps Gettin’ Better – A Decade of Hits’.

CASSIE: OFFICIAL GIRL [NEW VIDEO]…..

Cassie premiered her new video ‘Official Girl’ on FNMTV this week. The show aired last night however, and here’s the outcome:

The song and video features Lil Wayne but not even the high maintenance rapper can save this. It’s bad enough that the song is pretty bland and lacks the oomph and momentum that was consistent in ‘Me & U’. It’s not even that representative of a worthy Danja production but the Chris Robinson-directed video was just underwhelming.

The video looked more like a scantily clad photo shoot than a conceptually-inspired music video. Another case of Cass using her looks and body to get ahead. I am practically cracking up at the overly dramatic trailer that was put together for the video, like we were going to get some deeply intense dialogue. I’m not hating. I like Cassie. I think she’s a sweet girl but it is what it is unfortunately. Your looks and body can only take you so far.

Cassie also visited Hot 97 this week to do further promotion for her latest single. She denied dating Diddy (for the millionth time) and spoke on her and Rihanna rocking the same feathery vest that’s become so popular lately (the same vest was also worn by Amerie and Danity Kane‘s Aubrey ‘O Day).

Maybe those denials hold some weight as these days, dating doesn’t come anywhere near Diddy’s vocabulary. Diddy doesn’t have girlfiends. In the words of Monica, he has “sideline ho’s”. Since they’re obviously bed buddies, this is what Cassie has demoted herself to being. And any chick who allows that has some SERIOUS self-esteem issues. I’m very sure Cass has had many liaisons with Diddy’s self-proclaimed smoothed out manhood, but whatev. I’m sooooooo over this.

I got caught up to do this post yesterday so here’s your latest edition of ‘R&B Singers Out & About….’ and what your favourite R&B acts have been up to this past week or so. It seems Ryan Leslie may have found himself a brand new model chick. The handsome singer/producer was spotted having dinner last night at DaSilvano in Manhattan with 18-year-old star model Chanel Iman:

Ryan, who was rumoured to be dating Cassie at one time seemed to be really smitten with his new boo as he wined and dined her throughout the night. It appears he has a thang for those chicks with Exotic looks especially models (Cassie). Chanel does look like a cross between Amerie and his alleged ex – the one who’s rumoured to be dating her Bad Boy CEO under the quiet, but it appears Ryan is over it since he’s supposedly been there done that. Can’t be mad at him though. If you can have your pick of the ladies, go for the Exotic beautiful ones! See more after the cut.

Supposedly, Beyonce flew in to tape episodes for the new season of Desperate Housewives, which started taping this week. I’ve been hearing about Beyonce and Desperate Housewives for the past couple of months. At one time her people denied it but maybe there’s been a change of heart of some sort. In time, we’ll have to wait and see. I do know that Beyonce has been recording a large proportion of her new album in Los Angeles. I find it hard to believe she’d even have the time to film her part of Desperate Housewives when she got done shooting two movies and is in the process of recording a brand new album as well as an anticipated performance at Fashion Rocks in three weeks time. But as you know, this woman’s work ethic is like no one’s I’ve ever seen before. Chick aint satisfied until she’s dominating EVERY field outside of music. What were we all thinking when we believed she was expecting her husband’s child a while back? Beyonce aint trying to let a baby ruin her empire just yet when she’s got soooo much more to achieve or has she? Not until she wins that Oscar….. In that case, poor Jay-Z could be in for a very long wait!

Rihanna and her beau Chris Brown was spotted canoodling on those beautiful golden beaches of her Native Barbados on Tuesday:

Those two really have become inseparable. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if they bought a house together if they haven’t done so already. Chris already loves showering his boo with expensive jewellery including a massive rock which she was spotted wearing last week on her wedding finger. Of course this sparked off engagement rumours…..

They were seen trying out all of the watersports including riding waverunners, water tubes, water rafts and speedboats:

R&B SINGERS OUT & ABOUT: CASSIE @ ‘SEAN JOHN BRINGS MAGIC TO NEW YORK CITY’ EVENT…..

Cassie attended the ‘Sean John Brings Magic To New York’ event which of course was hosted by none other than the Didster. The event took place yesterday at the Sean John showroom in NYC. The mogul used the opportunity to premiere Sean John’s forthcoming Fall/Winter collection for a crowd of buyers:

As well as Cassie, other guests in attendance included Diddy’s mama Janice Combs, Terry Lundgren (CEO of Macys), and prestigious designer Zac Posen (first picture). Hmmmm, Cassie is never home whenever Diddy holds some big ass event. She’s always there and neither of Diddy’s other Bad Boy artists are showing up at these places. At least not the big ones anyway unlike Cassie. Of course they’ll now avoid being pictured together despite attending the same prestigious industry events but we all know what the dealio is. Too late to start playing coy now though….

It’s no wonder Cassie‘s new album has been pushed back to next year. Over half of her album has leaked and it’s time to go back to the drawing board. Another track called ‘Nobody But You’ presented itself over the weekend.

The song encounters production from The Dream who also lends his vocal contribution towards the song here and there. Noboby But You has an intoxicating chorus. The groovy beat flows quite well over the singer’s thin and whisper-like vocals. I notice how it uses an identical stuttering, skittering effect which is prevalent in Justin Timberlake‘s ‘My Love’. The Dream once again cooks up another banger as the beat goes quite hard but as for Cassie, what else is left to give?
